So it all started when my 2 children were in Elementary School.
As the kids were at school I had started to attend a M.O.M.’s group at a local church. I was sitting there listening to the speaker and I was feeling wave after wave of HEAT!!
Now, as a runner I was wearing a watch that could be used to track “lap times”.
“Hmmm…I can use my watch to track my ‘flame on’ times.” (This would be just like timing contractions during labour).
I set my watch and waited a very short time…WHOOSH…FLAME ON!! They were short and intense (I could feel the sweat running down my back. Yuck!) Turns out they were EVERY 3-5 MINUTES apart!!
This really was the obvious start of things to come, and that got my attention. There are so many other things that change for us women, aren't there? Ugg!!!
Sometimes the brain fog was so thick that I would find myself unable to make a simple decision. I had to actually snap myself out of it, and really concentrate, in order to move forward.
I wanted this to all go away! It was a real struggle. SO, I decided to take things into my own hands. I wanted to learn about steps that I could take that would help support my body, and my emotions, as they were changing.
I knew that my daily actions, to make improvements in my own life, would also improve my family’s lives.
What did I learn? I learned that small actions can make a big difference.
For example, eating an apple a day is EASY...but NOT eating an apple a day is ALSO easy!

So, this is the woman I see in you right now…
You are tired of being tired. You know there is a more natural way of improving how you feel, but you don’t even know where to begin. You know that it is your responsibility and you want to make the changes.
Us women are the gate keepers of our homes. We give to others but know that we need to take care of ourselves also.
I might be just a few steps ahead of you. I have been where you are, and in some situations maybe still am, but I have come through a lot.
I want to walk beside you and share what I have learned. There are so many things that we can do to support our body, our emotions, our relationships…and I LOVE sharing with anyone that wants to learn!.
Things like….
…understanding how sleep improves your thinking, as well as other things.
…how getting the bacteria in your gut balanced will support your whole body. I love to share how cultured foods can do that in a wonderful way, as 90% of our immune system is in our gut.
…how some of the household items you use every day are just not good for you, and even harmful, and how you can change that.
…did you know that what you say to yourself, over and over, will influence how you do things? What are you saying? I love the phrase, “It’s a good day to have a good day!!” Doesn’t that change how you look at the day?
…also a big thing that can help us as we age is what we eat, and when we eat (Intermittent Fasting). I am not 100% WFPB (Whole Foods Plant Based) but I know that I feel amazing when I regularly incorporate more plants in my diet.
